Plein Air Painting, Part 1 of 3

I painted a Plein Air painting "Early Shopper" as a three part series to experiment capturing video and educational content for my upcoming Online Training program.  Part 1 covers choosing a subject and composition; then, developing a preliminary sketch on location. I captured it on  video to give everyone  an idea of how I prepare for an outdoor painting.  It was accomplished in the early morning before the sunrise.  Other videos on facebook.com/everettswatercolors.

Looking Forward to a New Year

Today is the last day of 2017 and I am writing this early in the morning to get some thoughts down about the upcoming year.  There are so many ideas I have for my new online painting courses that will begin soon.  I want to reach as many people as I can and share some of the things I have learned about watercolor. The key points I want to cover is learning to capture what you see, sketch and draw the main components,  apply watercolor in simple and direct strokes and have fun painting.  My paintings are displayed on www.everettswatercolors.com  and facebook.com/everettswatercolors.

My Facebook Updates

Building up facebook page at facebook.com/everettswatercolors.  Uploaded 5 videos of plein air paintings.  These are good practice times to improve the development of light, values, and shapes.  I am doing a lot of my on location painting in the front seat of my truck with a headlamp for lighting.  It is early morning and I am capturing all the things I can find to paint, sketch, etc. These practices I want to bring to my on line programs.

I have learned a lot about using the social media platforms to get the message out.  Stay tuned.  The photo below is an example of a no pencil painting sketch.  It helps to simplify the subject and do a direct application of fewer brush strokes.

Studio Equipment Upgrades

Picking up a new computer,  monitor, mouse, webcams, updated software today.  I plan on setting up my broadcast studio separate from my painting studio, so that I can concentrate on video production, picture capture, lighting, sound, and background.  This will be a new start in my art career. Stay tuned and checkout my website everettswatercolors.com

Introduction to Everett's Watercolor Studio

My name is Everett and I have been painting in watercolors for over 25 years.  I designed and operated my first studio 5 years ago.  All of my paintings were hung on the walls and the classroom tables were arranged in the center of the room.  I used a pull down screen and projected slides of my references for the class to use. I taught classes to all ages and levels of experience.  The best reward is to see all of my students self expressing themselves in art. My latest objective is pursuing outdoor painting  (Plein Air)  .  I paint early in the morning and love to catch the sunrise and paint the new colors I see every day.

My goal for 2018 is to establish an online studio and present classes, demonstrations, and seminars on watercolor painting, sketching and many other art subjects associated with my experience and contacts.
