Value Study for Sketch from Photo
I completed a value study for the "Sketch from a Photo". It show the levels of depth in the final painting. Dark value in the foreground, Middle value in the middle ground, and Light value in the background. I also planned the value transition for the water and sky. These values will be a guide to adding paint values to the final painting.

Video - "On Location Drawing early in the AM
Drawing on location is a good exercise to develop the eye to see objects and relate the sizes and locations in a landscape. The proportions are important for showing the depth and distance in a painting. Drawing is a fundamental skill to learn and develop to improve one's overall art.
This sketch was done early in the morning and my goal was to capture the shapes and values as I saw them. The details of the background, etc were not distracting and it develops the basic shapes for a final panting. Documenting the scene on photographs and then sketching the shapes makes it easier to translate into a painting.

How to Sketch from a Photo
How to transfer objects from a photograph to a #sketch book and use it to #design and prepare your plan for a #watercolor #painting. I plan to follow up with more videos on this subject of taking the sketch and using it to make multiple decisions on design of a final painting.

Photo Story produced for future use
Edited a #photo slide story disc I found in my film library. I updated it, changed the music background, and added my locations on the web. I think it can be used as an advertisement or attention gainer for my new #online training #classes. I plan to make a new one to show my latest art work. Title is "EWC Story Slides". EWC is #Everett's #Watercolors.

New On Location Watercolor Painting
Produced new #video of on location #Watercolor Painting. Located on facebook.com/everettswatercolors. The title is "Sunrise at HT Parking Lot". Video taped with iPhone at 6:00 am and waited for the sunrise to happen. The snow storm this past week has stopped me from getting out to paint as I usually do. I am concentrating on my broadcast studio and getting it ready for live demos, etc. The below picture is the final painting after I added some details in the studio.

Art Studio Update
Hardware installation and checkout is ready. The new cameras and touch screen monitor was a challenge for a couple of days, but the technical issues were resolved. The microphone and speakers are up and working. Currently working on background and lighting setup for broadcast and #painting demonstration table. Testing out the #live streaming procedure with google #hangout and youtube. Working on the coordination of presenting on Camera 1 and demonstrating on Camera 2. It is going to be a lot of fun. I am looking forward to doing an Introductory video and initial demo for announcing the first #broadcast soon.
Found a painting for sky and water I painted and want to pass it along. Enjoy.

Winter weather and its snowing outside
As I watched the snow landing on the ground last night and this morning, I remembered a snow scene I painted. It is called "Nighttime Winter Scene" I used masking fluid to save the white paper and then painted several dark colors of green and several blue colors. After the paint dried I removed the masking fluid and this is the result. I can go further and add more detail, but I decided to leave it alone as a first impression of what I saw. The snow today is going to last a long time, and I am looking forward to painting some outdoor scenes at different times of the day and night.

Facebook and Twitter Updates
Added new Still Life watercolor painting and a new video "Color & Contrast" to facebook.com/everettswatercolors. Updated twitter.com/everettsart with new Still Life. The video is about getting the right color of an object on location, which the photograph does not capture. It also demonstrates how to solve getting the complex shapes of letters, etc. The picture shows the end results of color and contrast.
