My attention has been on developing an on line Watercolor Course. to be released this year. There was quite a learning curve in using the software and downloading files on the internet.
The live studio equipment and art demonstrations have been working fine. There are some new videos to be put on YouTube. Go to YouTube and type in Everettswatercolors in the search.
Posts on Facebook include a daily drawing of different subjects. Go to facebook.com/everettswatercolors
These updates will show up on my website (Classes) page.
Comment on this post and we can start up a discussion about anything art related.

Value Study for Sketch from Photo
I completed a value study for the "Sketch from a Photo". It show the levels of depth in the final painting. Dark value in the foreground, Middle value in the middle ground, and Light value in the background. I also planned the value transition for the water and sky. These values will be a guide to adding paint values to the final painting.

Video - "On Location Drawing early in the AM
Drawing on location is a good exercise to develop the eye to see objects and relate the sizes and locations in a landscape. The proportions are important for showing the depth and distance in a painting. Drawing is a fundamental skill to learn and develop to improve one's overall art.
This sketch was done early in the morning and my goal was to capture the shapes and values as I saw them. The details of the background, etc were not distracting and it develops the basic shapes for a final panting. Documenting the scene on photographs and then sketching the shapes makes it easier to translate into a painting.
